Our firm acts as outside counsel for Fireman's Fund and Liberty Mutual on bankruptcy matters on an ongoing basis.  Illustrating our expertise with complex legal issues, our litigation and bankruptcy lawyers won a significant ruling in connection with a complicated insurance coverage dispute on behalf of a major domestic insurer. 

U.S. Brass Corporation and its parent, Eljer Manufacturing, Inc., face significant exposure because of defective polybutane plumbing installed in residential dwellings between 1979 and 1986.  Our client, a major domestic insurer, is one of U.S. Brass' excess carriers, and when U.S. Brass filed for bankruptcy in Texas, numerous questions arose about the operation of insurance policies when the insured is in bankruptcy.
