Sonnenschein is one of the only national law firms with a full-service computer forensics/incident response and Internet investigations laboratory. Our lab supports Sonnenschein litigators with timely and effective investigation of electronic media analysis of Internet threats, and assessment of underground Internet communities. The services provided by the lab significantly reduce the costs associated with retaining outside consulting firms.

Recent Lab Success Stories Include:
- Performing computer forensic analyses of more than 15 computer systems used by former employees and finding incriminating evidence to support a TRO and preliminary injunction in a case involving the theft of proprietary information and trade secrets.
- Conducting an internal investigation where an employee was responsible for leaking confidential information to a competitor. The lab performed onsite imaging, interviews, and a forensic investigation to identify the responsible parties.
- Tracing origins of emails appearing to come from an internal source that contained defamatory accusations and threats. The lab identified the correct source of the email traffic as former employees spoofing current employee email addresses.
- Infiltrating an underground retailer responsible for the illegal resale of goods and using the information gathered to support preliminary litigation efforts leading to a significant settlement.
