Sonnenschein attorneys are assisting numerous clients with energy audits, leasing transactions, tax strategies and other activities related to energy efficiency and conservation.  As a key component of our climate change and renewable energy work, we specialize in helping clients obtain and monetize offsets achieved through conservation and efficiency measures.

Among other prominent engagements, we are assisting the City of New Orleans in developing ground-breaking energy efficiency and conservation measures, enabling the city to be rebuilt as a “green” community in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and the federal levee failures.  Our work includes development of green pricing tariffs, educational programs for the local utility, audits, training for energy raters, enhancement and enforcement of energy-related state and local building codes, and development of comprehensive programs integrating building standards, renewable energy, and weatherization.
