Joseph J. Andrew, served as the National Chair of the Democratic National Committee from the Clinton impeachment to the 2000 recount in Florida.  His corporate practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions of companies in highly regulated industries.

Joshua G. Berman is a former federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and the Department of Justice who focuses on white collar criminal litigation and investigations, health care fraud and abuse matters, SEC investigations, complex civil litigation, internal corporate and Congressional investigations, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters.

Kevin P. Chavous is a former councilman in the District of Columbia.  He concentrates on education and corporate diversity counseling and provides legal representation for several universities and to primary and secondary schools on various regulatory and legal compliance matters.

Joyce A. Cowan represents a broad array of health care providers and other health care organizations, as well as commercial banks, equity funds, asset managers,  and other members of the financial services sector.  She works with these organizations in connection with legislative and regulatory issues, particularly with respect to the Medicare and Medicaid programs, and advises clients on their responses in the Congressional oversight arena. 

Mark A. Gary Hernandez served as the Deputy Insurance Commissioner and Chief of Enforcement in California and he served as Deputy City Attorney for the City and County of San Francisco.  He handles state regulatory compliance, company and agency formation, regulatory approval and administrative law matters. 

W. Van Hilleary is a former Congressman who held seats on the House Armed Services, Budget, Education and the Workforce, and Small Business Committees. 

Thomas C. Jensen served as Majority Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and in the White House Council on Environmental Quality.  As Senate Counsel he organized and assisted in the conduct of numerous oversight proceedings, and as a White House staff member, he helped prepare Administration officials to testify in oversight proceedings and respond to Congressional inquiries, and has helped numerous business and government leaders prepare to testify and respond to Congressional inquiries.

Frederick D. McClure is the former head of White House Legislative Affairs for President George H. W. Bush and was responsible for obtaining the confirmation of Presidential nominees, including associate justices of the Supreme Court.  He organized and conducted the hearing preparation, accompanied the nominees on Senate visits, advised the nominees during hearings, and coordinated public and media outreach with Administration communications officials. 

Kathleen McDermott served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Maryland, and was responsible for investigating and prosecuting some of the nation’s most significant—and cutting edge—health care fraud cases.  In private practice she has defended some of the nation’s largest and most prominent hospitals, health systems, clinical research organizations, medical device manufacturers and insurers in a wide range of complex government investigations and whistleblower actions.

Marc J. Zwillinger is the leader of our Internet, Communications & Data Protection group and has represented witnesses and personally testified in Congressional hearings related to Internet practices, such as data retention, information security and pretexting.   He also advises and counsels clients on responding to legal process served by the government in criminal investigations.  He is a former Trial Attorney with the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the Department of Justice.
