Top Washington Political Strategist Jimmy Williams Joins Sonnenschein

(WASHINGTON, February 24, 2010) - Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP announced today that James F.M. Williams, former senior political adviser to Carl Icahn, has joined the national law firm's Public Law & Policy Strategies Group as senior managing director in its Washington, D.C., office.

Williams is the newest member of Sonnenschein's top ranked Advocacy practice, where he specializes in federal banking, tax, budget and trade policy. His previous experience includes seven years in various lobbying capacities, most recently as senior political adviser to Carl Icahn, whom he will continue to advise. He also served six years in the U.S. Senate at various senior levels, including senior policy adviser to then-Sen. Joseph Biden (D-DE), majority staff director of the Senate Banking Subcommittee on Economic Policy, senior adviser to Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY), and senior economic policy adviser to Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin (D-IL).
