(NEW YORK/WASHINGTON, April 23, 2008) - National law firm Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP today announced that Lee Ann Dillon and Janice R. Moore have joined its Corporate Practice Group as partners, specializing in the areas of finance and securities. Dillon and Moore will reside in Sonnenschein’s New York and Washington, D.C., offices, respectively. They were both previously partners at McGuireWoods LLP.
“Lee Ann and Janice are two superb attorneys who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to our firm in the capital markets area, particularly derivatives, structured products and lending, and other commercial finance transactions,” said Paul A. Gajer, national chair of Sonnenschein’s Corporate Practice Group. “Their leadership in these areas will significantly enhance our work within the financial services community.”
Dillon is a corporate finance lawyer, whose clients come primarily from the financial services industry. She has represented arrangers, lenders and other credit providers, as well as financial sponsors and borrowers in senior credit facilities, including leveraged and investment grade, second lien, mezzanine and structured facilities. She has a strong background in health care finance and international finance, including Islamic investment alternatives. In addition, Dillon has substantial experience in the structured products area and dealer/distribution arrangements.
Moore’s focus is on capital markets and commodities, particularly energy commodities. She works mainly on domestic and offshore exempt offerings of securities, structured products and derivatives. Her energy practice involves physical and financial trading and structured transactions for various energy commodities and risk management activities, including power, natural gas, coal, crude oil and petrochemical products. She has a long history with the energy sector, having worked as in-house counsel for several companies in the energy field.
Together, Dillon and Moore represent broker-dealer affiliates of several blue-chip institutions and commercial banks. They also work with clients in finance, capital markets, derivatives and energy.
“Sonnenschein has the ideal platform to support our practice and the growing amount of capital markets work that we do,” said Dillon. “The firm’s expertise in related areas will be very beneficial to our clients.”
Added Moore, “This is a terrific opportunity for Lee Ann and me. In particular, Sonnenschein’s new Energy & Regulated Industries practice will be a good fit with the work that I do for my clients in the energy field.”
Dillon received a J.D. degree, magna cum laude, from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law and a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
