Tax Attorney M. Todd Welty Joins Sonnenschein in Dallas

(DALLAS, April 9, 2008) - Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP today announced that M. Todd Welty has joined the national law firm as a partner in its Taxation practice.  Welty, whose work focuses on taxation and litigation of controversies arising under the Internal Revenue Code, will reside in Sonnenschein’s Dallas office.  He is widely recognized in the Dallas community as a leader in resolving tax matters at all stages of dispute.

“Todd will be instrumental in helping us expand the tax work we do for our clients, particularly our capabilities in tax controversy representation,” said Marc D. Teitelbaum, national chair of Sonnenschein’s Taxation practice.  “Perhaps more importantly, he will help strengthen our expertise in tax litigation.  He is a superb lawyer who brings a tremendous amount of experience to the firm.”

Welty represents a broad range of clients, including individual taxpayers, business enterprises, tax advisors, and corporate executives in both federal and criminal proceedings.  He counsels entrepreneurs and their businesses in tax and business planning matters.  He is also an experienced trial attorney, having litigated matters in the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and U.S. District Courts.
