Sonnenschein Announces Promotions, Including 12 New Partners

(CHICAGO, April 3, 2008) — Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP announced today the election of 12 partners and one senior managing director.  The promotions, effective April 1, will enhance the firm’s services in corporate, corporate bankruptcy and restructuring, intellectual property, litigation, public policy, real estate, tax and other practice areas.

The promotions are in five of Sonnenschein’s offices: Five in New York, four in Chicago, two in Kansas City, one in Los Angeles, and one in Washington, D.C.

The new partners promoted from of counsel are:

John A. Bicks, New York. Practices in the Corporate Reorganization & Bankruptcy Practice Group. University of South Carolina School of Law, J.D., 1985; Haverford College, B.A.,1982.

Amadeo F. Cantu Jr., Los Angeles. Counsels investment advisors and pension and investment funds with their real estate investments, assists commercial landlords and tenants with office and industrial leases, and aids lenders and borrowers with mortgage loans. Jeffrey S. Geron, New York. Practices in the Corporate Group focusing on transactional work with an emphasis on the corporate aspects of bankruptcy and distressed company matters.  Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, J.D., magna cum laude, 1992; The George Washington University, B.B.A., magna cum laude, 1989.

Chris S. Heller, Kansas City. Practice specializes in corporate and financial transactional matters, principally in mergers and acquisitions. Andrea Sharetta, New York. Practices in the Tax Group, focusing on federal and international tax planning, including advising on M&A, reorganizations and cross-boarder transactions. Ron B. Sitton, New York. Practices in the Corporate Group, representing primarily private equity funds and companies in the media and telecommunications sectors.
