Mark F. Mehlman Elected 2008 President of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers

(CHICAGO, December 12, 2007) -- Mark F. Mehlman, a partner at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, has been elected president of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers for 2008.
The American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), founded in 1978, is a non-profit organization composed of more than 950 lawyers who have gained national distinction in the practice of real estate law. Admission to the College is by invitation following a rigorous selection procedure.
The national legal group devotes its efforts to improving the practice of real estate law and enhancing the professional knowledge of its members. The College also has taken positions regarding legislation, filed amicus curiae briefs in cases involving real estate issues, and participated in public service projects.
A member of the Illinois bar, Mr. Mehlman received a B.A. degree from the University of Illinois and an LLB degree from the University of Michigan. He has practiced exclusively in the field of real estate, specializing in acquisitions and dispositions, multi-property, multi-state financing transactions, troubled loan workouts, and hospitality-related matters. He is an active member of the Anglo-American Real Property Institute and the American Bar Association, where he served as secretary of the Real Property and Probate Section. Mr. Mehlman has been recognized by Chamber's Global as a Leading Illinois Lawyer, selected as one of the top 100 Super Lawyers in Illinois, and recently designated one of the Lawdragon 500 Leading Dealmakers in America.
