Sonnenschein Adds Assistant U.S. Attorney Glen Donath To Litigation Group

October 22, 2007

(WASHINGTON, October 22, 2007)--Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP today announced that Glen Donath has joined the national law firm as a partner in its Litigation Practice Group.  Donath, who will practice in Sonnenschein’s Washington, D.C., office, joins the firm from the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was an assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.

“Glen adds value, not just to our litigation group, but throughout the firm,” said Michael H. Barr, national chair of Sonnenschein’s Litigation Practice Group.  “His experience as a federal prosecutor, working on healthcare fraud and abuse, white-collar crime, public corruption and government enforcement actions, will be of enormous benefit both to Sonnenschein and our clients.”

During his tenure at the Justice Department, Donath served as a senior federal prosecutor in the Fraud and Public Corruption Section.  He prosecuted a wide variety of white-collar matters, including healthcare offenses, tax fraud and money laundering, and tried cases in both Federal District Court and the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.  Donath also directed fraud investigations involving a wide variety of government investigative agencies.

Prior to his government work, Donath was an associate at Williams & Connolly LLP where he was part of the legal team representing former President Bill Clinton during the Office of the Independent Counsel’s Monica Lewinsky investigation.  Donath served on the president’s defense team for his 1999 impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate, and he represented Clinton during an investigation by the Campaign Finance Task Force in 1998.

“Sonnenschein has a superb reputation and it offers a platform that will be extremely beneficial as I build my practice,” said Donath.  “I am delighted to be joining a firm with such impressive resources.”

Donath received a J.D. degree, with high honors, from the University of Chicago Law School, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, and a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Yale University.
