Patent Trial Attorney Rudy Kim Joins Sonnenschein in Silicon Valley

(Menlo Park, Calif., May 15, 2007)—Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP announced today that patent trial attorney Rudy Y. Kim has joined the law firm as a partner in its Patent Litigation Group. He will reside in the firm’s Silicon Valley office.

Mr. Kim has represented clients in matters involving a variety of technologies, including computer hardware and software, data storage, digital security, broadband communication, medical devices and biotechnology. He is a registered patent attorney, licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Kim joins Sonnenschein from Irell & Manella LLP. He received a J.D. degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to joining Irell & Manella, he was a litigation associate at Latham & Watkins LLP and served as law clerk to Judge Alan D. Lourie of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit from 1999 to 2001.
Earlier this year, Sonnenschein announced the addition of Yar R. Chaikovsky as partner and former U.S. International Trade Commission Section 337 Administrative Law Judge Delbert R. “Chip” Terrill Jr. as of counsel to its Patent Litigation Group in Silicon Valley and Washington, D.C., respectively. The practice now numbers over 30 patent trial attorneys, including three former Federal Circuit law clerks and three former trial court law clerks.
