Sonnenschein's Public Policy Team Adds Former Capitol Hill Chief of Staff and Promotes Two

April 11, 2007

(WASHINGTON, April 11, 2007)--Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP announced today that Robert C. Sepucha, Jr. has joined the law firm as a partner in its Public Law & Policy Strategies Group. The firm also announced the promotion of John R. Feore, III to managing director and Alison L. Kutler to partner. The three reside in Sonnenschein's Washington, D.C. office.

"It is great to have Bobby on board as we continue our aggressive growth in 2007. He brings our clients strong political judgment that can readily translate Washington realities into boardroom decision making and investment priorities," said Mike McNamara, chair of Sonnenschein's Public Law & Policy Strategies Group. "Alison, Adam and John have already each been key contributors to the success of our group. We look forward to having them take on bigger responsibilities in their new positions."

Sepucha was most recently the chief of staff to former Rep. Harold Ford, Jr. (D-Tenn.). He managed a 15-person staff in Washington and Memphis. Sepucha also served as a senior advisor during Ford's 2006 U.S. Senate campaign, focusing on strategic planning and fundraising.

"This is an exciting time in Washington," noted Sepucha. "With the shift in power in Congress at the beginning of the year, companies and investors are facing a new set of challenges. Sonnenschein's team is uniquely suited to provide the kind of strategic advice they need most."

Prior to his time on Capitol Hill, Sepucha worked with high technology and venture companies at Gunderson Dettmer Stough Villeneuve Franklin & Hachigian LLP in Silicon Valley and Boston. He began his professional career as a securities lawyer in San Francisco at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP. Sepucha earned a J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan and an A.B. degree, cum laude, in political science and economics from Dartmouth College.

Feore advocates before Congress and the executive branch on behalf of trade associations and corporations. He also assists hedge funds, private equity firms and other members of the financial services sector, focusing primarily on federal health care policy. Feore earned a B.A. degree from Boston College.

Kutler, who joined Sonnenschein in 2002, has an extensive federal and state advocacy background. She provides public policy management, which includes advocacy work before Congress, and political intelligence services to clients. Kutler earned a J.D. degree from Stanford University and a B.A. degree, cum laude, from Georgetown University.
