D.C. Participates in Everybody Wins! Literacy Program
June 2, 2006
During the 2005 - 2006 school year, 26 attorneys and other professionals in Sonnenschein's Washington, D.C. office participated in the Everybody Wins! literacy program. Everybody Wins! DC is a privately funded, non-profit organization devoted to promoting children's literacy and a love of learning through shared reading experiences with caring individuals.
As part of its Centennial education initiative, the firm sponsored employees to serve as volunteer reading mentors at the Marie-Reed Learning Center in the Adams-Morgan neighborhood. This year, Sonnenschein had the largest number of reading mentors at the school. The Washington, D.C. office also donated $1100 to Everybody Wins! and over 100 books to Marie Reed's school library. Everybody Wins! DC is the largest grassroots children's literacy and mentoring program in the Washington Metropolitan area.
