San Francisco Office Wins 2005 Koko Challenge Award from the Bay Area General Counsel Group and the United Way of the Bay Area

December 12, 2005

The Bay Area General Counsel Group and United Way of the Bay Area announced the 2005 Koko Challenge Award winners, recognizing law firms that went above and beyond in their United Way fundraising campaigns and excelled in total dollar results, innovation, enthusiasm and other criteria.

Sonnenschein is one of three top award winners for overall excellence.  Through various special events, including an auction, karaoke night, bowl-a-thon, and an office jeans day, the campaign raised a record dollar amount and received 100 percent participation from the associates.

"We are so happy that the United Way of the Bay Area continues to recognize Sonnenschein's long history of successful campaigns on its behalf, and we are thrilled to receive for the first-time the Little Koko award," said San Francisco partner Kevin Haroff.  "Our dynamic team worked tirelessly on the campaign, developed a theme early on - "Local Agencies Providing Aid to Local Communities" - which kept us focused during each fundraising event we hosted, from a bowling night to a special auction, and with each United Way check we wrote."

Sonnenschein's 2005 United Way Campaign Committee in San Francisco includes Matt Adams, Dan Brown, Joe Brusky, Aengus Carr, Staci Dresher, Kevin Haroff (co-chair), Meridith Lee, Tricia Lee, Karen Marchiano, David Simonton, Kim Soto, Deidra Williams-Gainer, Jessica Woelfel (co-chair), Margaret Wong and Elizabeth Wyatt.
