Sonnenschein Adds L. Robert Guenthner to Growing Health Care Practice

(CHICAGO, December 8, 2005) — Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP announced today that it has further expanded its national Health Care Group with the addition of L. Robert Guenthner, who joins Sonnenschein as a partner in its Chicago office. Guenthner, who specializes in corporate and transactional health care matters, joins Sonnenschein from the Health Law and Corporate Departments of Gardner Carton & Douglas LLP in Chicago.
Guenthner’s practice includes the representation of public and private health care organizations (including hospitals and health systems), as well as non-health care entities, in a wide array of health care and general corporate matters. Among other things, he advises clients with respect to corporate governance, mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, formation and contracting, as well as employment issues, conflict resolution, compliance and other legal and business matters.

Guenthner received a J.D. degree (with a concentration in business law) and an M.B.A. degree (with a concentration in finance/organizational behavior) from Washington University, and a B.S. degree in business administration, cum laude, from the University of Dayton. He is admitted to the Illinois bar and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association as well as both the American and Chicago Bar Associations.
