Sonnenschein Announces 10 Promotions to Partner, Of Counsel

(CHICAGO, April 1, 2005)—Law firm Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP has announced the election of seven partners and three of counsel.  The promotions, effective today, will help the firm meet demands for legal services in corporate and securities, insurance, intellectual property, litigation, and other practice areas. 

The promotions are in five of Sonnenschein’s offices: four in Chicago, two in Kansas City, one in Los Angeles, one in New York and two in San Francisco.

The new partners are:
Mitchell E. Albert, Kansas City.  Practice concentrates in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate finance and general corporate law.  University of Chicago Law School, J.D., 1998; University of Chicago, M.A. (economics and public policy), 1995; Brown University, B.A., 1989.

Mina Amir-Mokri, Chicago.  Practices in the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation practice group.  University of Illinois College of Law, J.D., 1993; University of Illinois, M.S. (accountancy), 1996; University of Chicago, B.A. (history), 1989.

Michael S. Gugig, New York.  Practices in the Litigation and Business Regulation practice group.  Adjunct professor of law at Rutgers School of Law.  Rutgers School of Law, J.D., with highest honors, 1998; Kean College of New Jersey, B.A., summa cum laude

Kendra Kekelis Hartman, Chicago.  Practices in the Litigation and Business Regulation practice group.  Yale Law School, J.D., 1998, Yale Journal on Regulation; Brandeis University, B.A. (economics), summa cum laude, with highest honors, Phi Beta Kappa, 1995.

Brian R. McGinley, Kansas City.  Practices in the Intellectual Property and Technology practice group, specializing in patent and trademark prosecution, intellectual property litigation, and intellectual property licensing and transactional matters.  University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, J.D., Order of the Coif, 1997, Missouri Law Review; University of Missouri-Columbia, B.S. M. Demian L. The newly named of counsel are:
Theresa M. Fitzgerald, San Francisco.  Practices in the Insurance practice group.  Formerly served as staff counsel for the California Department of Insurance and for the Hawaii Insurance Division.  University of California Hastings College of Law, J.D., 1986; University of California Davis, B.A., 1982.

Chunlin Leonhard, Chicago.  Practices in the Litigation and Business Regulation practice group.  Formerly, a judicial clerk with The Honorable Christopher J. Armstrong, Massachusetts Appeals Court.  Boston University School of Law, J.D., magna cum laude, 1995; University of Nevada, Reno, M.A., 1992; Shanghai Foreign Language Institute, B.A., 1986.

Christopher E. Prince, Los Angeles.  Practice focuses on fraud investigation, insolvency, debtor-creditor relations and bankruptcy.  Immediate past president of the John M.
