Sonnenschein Attorney Curtis Karnow Named San Francisco Superior Court Judge

(SAN FRANCISCO, February 28, 2005)—Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP today announced that California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed Curtis E.A. Karnow, a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office, to a judgeship in San Francisco City and County Superior Court.

Karnow specializes in intellectual property litigation and technology law, including computer and Internet issues, and in complex commercial, antitrust and class-action litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. He was a member of the Sun trial team in the landmark antitrust litigation, Sun Microsystems v. Microsoft, which resulted in one of the largest antitrust recoveries in history.  Among his other clients are Yahoo! Inc., Charles Schwab Corporation and Cisco Systems, Inc.  He joined Sonnenschein in 1996. 

Karnow received a J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School  and a B.A. degree from Harvard University.   He is a member of the California Judicial Council’s Committee on Civil & Small Claims.  He fills the vacancy on the bench created by the retirement of Judge Lillian Sing.
