Pro Bono Client Sit Stay Read Profiled on NBC Nightly News
Sonnenschein pro bono client, Sit Stay Read, was the subject of the "What Works" segment on the August 4, 2008, edition of the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. Sit Stay Read is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization which promotes children's literacy through the use of volunteers and their canine companions. Associates Stephanie O'Neill Macro, Beata Krakus and Jacqueline Farinella assist Sit Stay Read with corporate and trademark issues.

Sonnenschein Attorneys Help Make Pentagon Memorial a Reality
Sonnenschein is honored to have played a role in the successful completion of the Pentagon Memorial, a two-acre park adjacent to the Pentagon that features 184 cantilevered steel and granite benches with small pools of water underneath. The Pentagon Memorial Fund was established by the families of the 184 victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in Washington, D.C. As a result of our multi-year pro bono representation of the Pentagon Memorial Fund, Sonnenschein was recognized at the dedication of the Memorial on September 11, 2008. The Memorial Fund allows for the construction and permanent maintenance of the Pentagon Memorial, which is the first of the major 9/11 memorials to be completed and opened to the public.

Firm Helps Kansas Tornado Survivors Rebuild Their Community
Sonnenschein teamed up with the New York Says Thank You Foundation to help the people of Greensburg, Kan., rebuild their devastated community, which was destroyed by a tornado on May 4, 2007. A group of more than 20 attorneys, staff and guests from the law firm's Kansas City, Mo., office traveled to Greensburg from Sept. 4-7 to participate in what was described as America's largest "barn raising."
