will present "Congressional Investigations: When Due Process Disappears" as part of a panel at the
MCCA's 2008 CLE Expo
in Chicago. This presentation will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28.
"The 'new' Congress in Washington D.C. has conducted an unprecedented number of congressional investigations of companies. The factual threshold that triggers an investigation is so mercurial; the only safe conclusion is that any company can be investigated, for anything, at anytime, and for any reason. This panel of congressional staffers and counsel that 'litigate' against them will outline the differences between traditional due process and what really happens when the U.S. Congress comes knocking at your door."
The MCCA was founded in 1997 to advocate for the expanded hiring, retention and promotion of minority attorneys in corporate law departments and the law firms that serve them. MCCA accomplishes its mission through the collection and dissemination of information about diversity in the legal profession.
The conference will take place from March 26-28, 2008, at the Marriott Downtown in Chicago.
Sonnenschein is a sponsor of the MCCA 2008 CLE Expo.
