Jonathan Vogel Moderates Panel at the ABA's Administrative Law Conference in Washington, D.C.

Event Description: Sonnenschein partner Jonathan Vogel will moderate "Significant Education Law Developments, 2006-2007" at the ABA's Administrative Law Conference at 2:00 p.m. on October 25th in Washington, D.C.

This program will provide an important overview of the significant legal developments in education law during the last year.  The General Counsel and a Deputy General Counsel from the U.S. Department of Education will address recent actions taken to implement the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 and the proposal to reauthorize the law.  In addition, other panelists will discuss some of the most important education cases of the year involving race, disability rights, and free speech. 

The cases the panel will discuss are: 

  1. Parents Involved In Community Schools v. Seattle School Dist. No. 1,
  2. Board of Education of the City School District of New York v. Tom F. ex rel. Gilbert F., and
  3. Morse v. Frederick ("Bong Hits 4 Jesus") and Gilles v. Blanchard.
