The release earlier this year of the executive compensation rule proposal by the Securities and Exchange Commission has already begun to reshape the way in which executive compensation is being reported for the 2006 proxy season and will result in significant changes in the governance environment of public companies. It is anticipated that the final rule, once approved, will be in effect for the 2007 proxy season.
