Sonnenschein Honored with Diversity Award from Morgan Stanley
Sonnenschein has received the 2010 Leadership and Excellence in Inclusion and Diversity Award from global financial services firm Morgan Stanley. Attorney Orlando Vidal accepted the award from Morgan Stanley’s Legal and Compliance Division on behalf of Sonnenschein, noting how the law firm and Morgan Stanley share an abiding commitment to diversity. The two firms have worked closely on the purchase and credit enhancement of large pools of properties under the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit program. Mr. Vidal also reflected on Sonnenschein’s deeply rooted commitment to inclusiveness, since its founding more than 100 years ago. He said diversity "offers Sonnenschein a broader perspective, more creative ideas, a deeper understanding and a higher-quality product. The firm puts energy into diversity and inclusion not only because they represent the right thing to do in a globalized business climate but also because they are the right thing to do, period." This core value aligns with those of UK-based Denton Wilde Sapte, with which Sonnenschein will combine on September 30 to form SNR Denton, a global firm with 1,400 lawyers and 33 offices in 18 countries on 4 continents.
