Diversity Connections Winter 2010 Issue
Sonnenschein's Diversity Connections Winter 2010 issue contains the firm's fifth year-end diversity statistics for attorneys and second for nonlegal staff, as well as a wealth of material highlighting myriad cultural and educational events that have recently taken place at our offices.  It also includes news with an international flavor.  Varya Simpson, counsel in the Corporate Practice of our San Francisco office, shares the tremendous energy and excitement she experienced at the first conference in India to address issues facing women lawyers.  The story of a Peruvian-born student demonstrates how hard work led Alejandro Callirgos to receive a Sonnenschein-sponsored scholarship to law school.
Sonnenschein Sponsors Scholarship for U.C. Hastings Law Student
Sonnenschein is one of the sponsors of the California Bar Foundation’s Diversity Scholarship Program, which provides scholarships to diverse law students with financial need who wish to make a positive impact as community leaders. This year, 23 recipients were chosen out of a pool of 200 applicants. Sonnenschein is matched with Alejandro Callirgos, a first-year student at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Alejandro is a native of Peru who overcame personal and economic adversity to graduate from the University of Miami, Coral Cables.
