Todd Weiss is vice chair of the Public Law & Policy Strategies Group. His extensive public policy advocacy experience includes the representation of numerous publicly traded and privately held corporate, nonprofit, and trade association entities before the U.S. Congress, the Executive Branch, federal agencies, and local governments.

With a special emphasis on energy, environment, transportation, and tax/finance, Mr. Weiss specializes in federal and state legislative, regulatory, and public policy advocacy. He enjoys very strong relationships with Members of Congress and staff on both sides of the political aisle and is adept at crafting comprehensive strategies to accomplish client objectives. 

Prior to joining Sonnenschein’s Public Law and Policy Strategies Group, he was a Government Relations Director at Arent Fox.  In that capacity, Mr. Weiss assisted clients with an array of legislative, political, and regulatory matters.

Mr. Weiss served for two years as the Senior Policy Advisor for Senator Tim Hutchinson (R-AR), handling fiscal authorization and appropriations matters, as well as Committee issues relating to the military, international affairs, trade, and budget.

Mr. Weiss has also worked in a variety of other Congressional and campaign positions.  Having previously served for two years as a legislative aide to Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA), he handled a wide array of legislative and public policy-related initiatives.  In addition, Mr. Weiss has served as a campaign/research assistant for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, as well as a staff member of the House International Relations Committee.
