Mr. Latimer’s practice focuses on insurance regulation, insurance litigation, and general litigation.
Mr. Latimer has assisted in advising national insurers and insurance-related service companies on regulatory compliance issues such as market conduct examinations, mergers & acquisitions, licensing, regulatory approvals, and bankruptcy. His expertise in this area concentrates on legal research, preparation of related applications and contracts, and execution of applications with state departments of insurance.
Mr. Latimer has also participated in arbitrations for coverage in the reinsurance/captive insurance context for a large national client.
Mr. Latimer expects to complete the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in early 2010. He combines risk management knowledge gained through this education with his business background to add value to legal services provided to clients.
Mr. Latimer has participated in general litigation cases involving insurers and American Indian tribes.
During law school, Mr. Latimer was a member of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal and the Berkeley Business Law Journal. He participated in an International Law Program at Cambridge University in 2005.
