Mr. Gold is a Partner in the New York office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal and practices in the Litigation Practice, concentrating on large and complex matters. His litigation practice includes general civil and criminal matters, trials and appeals, entertainment, intellectual property, securities, computer, technology, antitrust, corporate and real estate law.
Mr. Gold has vast experience over many years in a wide range of matters, and is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has tried many cases in state and federal courts, and has argued numerous appeals in various courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mr. Gold has extensive experience in many substantive areas, including antitrust, securities, international disputes, class actions, civil rights, contract issues, intellectual property, legal and accounting malpractice, white-collar criminal defense and entertainment industry related matters.
In November 2001, Mr. Gold was named "Litigator of the Month" by the National Law Journal for having obtained a $248 million judgment on behalf of The Cayuga Indian Nation of New York against the State of New York for the State's wrongful acquisition of the Cayuga's land in 1795.
Mr. Gold is a senior member of the Departmental Disciplinary Committee, First Judicial Department, appointed by, and responsible to, the Appellate Division, First Judicial Department, for the discipline of attorneys.
Mr. Gold has taught evidence and trial practice as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University.
Between 1962 and 1965, Mr. Gold served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York prosecuting federal crimes. In connection with the prosecution of a major conspiracy, he received a special commendation from Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy.
