Richard M. Zuckerman has a diverse litigation practice in federal courts, bankruptcy courts, state courts, and arbitration. His cases include commercial litigation (including securitizations, sub-prime lending, secured lending, and financial fraud), bankruptcy litigation, insurance coverage litigation, and other litigation concerning financial institutions and brokerage firms. He also counsels financial institutions and businesses concerning unclaimed property law, and counsels authors and artists with respect to publishing contracts and museum exhibitions.
Mr. Zuckerman is Co-Author of Appeals to the Second Circuit, published by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and has briefed and argued numerous appeals in federal and state courts.
Mr. Zuckerman is Vice Chair of the Judiciary Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. He also serves as an arbitrator for the Court-Annexed Arbitration of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and as a mediator for the Supreme Court of the State of New York, New York County (Commercial Division). Mr. Zuckerman teaches in Continuing Legal Education programs.
In 2006, Mr. Zuckerman received Sonnenschein’s Rothschild Award for his pro bono work, including work for Human Rights Watch and for the Center for Architecture Foundation.
At Yale Law School, Mr. Zuckerman was an Assistant-in-Instruction and Editor of the Yale Law Journal, and received the Harlan Fiske Stone Prize.
Mr. Zuckerman is a member of the Publications Committee of the International Center of Photography.
