Claude G.B. Fontheim is a partner in the firm’s Public Law & Policy Strategies Group and is the CEO of Fontheim International, LLC. 

Mr. Fontheim has extensive experience advising corporate and government clients on significant and complex international trade, public policy and corporate social responsibility matters.

Mr. Fontheim is active in national and international organizations, as well as numerous boards and advisory committees.  He sits on the Department of State’s Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy and the Trade Representative’s Trade Advisory Committee on Africa, and has served on the President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations.

He is chairman of the GlobalWorks Foundation, which is dedicated to fighting global poverty, and the Democratic Leadership Council project on The New Global Economy and Trade, which is committed to advancing forward-thinking trade policies. He is a trustee of the Progressive Policy Institute, and is on the board of directors of the Alliance to End Hunger, Securing America's Future Energy and the New Democrat Network.

Mr. Fontheim also serves as a senior advisor to the Business Coalition for Capacity Building, LLC, a non-partisan coalition of companies that work to promote sustainable development, and the Trade Aid and Security coalition (TASC), an initiative of NGO's, civil society and business. He is also on the Advisory Boards of the Blue Fund, a socially responsible investment company and Hudson Abel Partners, a boutique investment firm.

Publications:

Mr. Fontheim has published numerous articles, including on international trade and labor policy in Blueprint magazine, the chapter on European telecommunications policy and regulation in the American Enterprise Institute series, "The United States Faces a United Europe," and the concluding chapter of Trade Policy: The Lawyer's Perspective of which he was co-editor. He has also spoken widely on these topics.
